Spiced cashews
Crunchy, flavourful cashews with sugar, chilli, cumin and salt. An easy snack packed with flavour, perfect for guests, tapas and cosy moments.
Spiced cashews are one of those snacks that are almost impossible to resist. The combination of sweetness, warming spices and a lightly salty flavour creates a crunchy snack that feels simple yet a little extra delicious.
It is also an incredibly easy recipe to make. With just a few ingredients and a few minutes in the pan, you get a homemade snack that is perfect as a small appetiser, for a tapas spread or as something crunchy to enjoy with a drink.
For this recipe, a 24 cm frying pan is an obvious choice because it gives you good control as the sugar caramelises around the nuts. A sturdy spoon is also handy for quickly tossing the nuts and spreading them evenly in the pan.

Tips for extra crunchy nuts
Keep an eye on the sugar as you go, so it melts and caramelises without getting too dark.
Let the nuts cool a little before separating them, so the caramel has time to set and become crunchy.
Serving
Serve the spiced cashews once they are completely cool and crunchy. They taste lovely on their own, but are also perfect as a small snack with an aperitif, with tapas or as a crunchy addition to a snack spread.
To make the presentation a little more inviting, arrange the nuts in a small bowl or on a platter alongside other small snacks. This creates a more attractive presentation and makes them easy to share at the table.
This recipe shows just how much flavour you can get from a few ingredients and a few minutes of cooking. Spiced cashews are therefore an obvious choice when you want to make something quick, simple and truly delicious.
