At the heart of the slow cooker is a removable cast iron cooking pot with an enamel coating, combining substantial cookware with the convenience of an electric appliance. Six dedicated modes give you Slow Cook Low, Slow Cook High, Sear, Sauté, Steam and Fast Cook, so you can handle several stages of a recipe without reaching for multiple appliances. Sear meat before slow cooking to build deeper flavour, sauté ingredients directly in the pot, or use the included steaming rack when you want to steam food above the cooking liquid. Slow cooking times can be adjusted to suit the dish, while the electronic controls and clear display make it simple to select the function, time and available temperature settings. The result is much more than an appliance for long, gentle cooking, it’s a versatile one-pot solution that gives you more ways to prepare everyday meals with less equipment.
The best kind of convenient cooking should stay convenient when dinner is finished. By letting you sear, sauté and slow cook in the same removable pot, you can reduce the number of separate pans and cooking vessels needed for recipes with multiple preparation stages. Once you are finished, the enamel-coated cast iron pot lifts out of the cooker, making it easy to clean separately from the electrical base. The glass lid is removable too, while the main unit simply needs to be wiped with a damp cloth once it has cooled. To keep everything performing at its best for as long as possible, hand washing is recommended for the removable parts, along with avoiding abrasive cleaners and metal scouring pads that could damage the surfaces.
